What's New, and Updates

We've definitely been keeping busy at NonElec lately, with a couple new products coming in, and prepping for a really big SALE. It's time to clear out our stockroom to make space for new items. So that means, cheap, cheap accessories and discontinued items for you. You'll want to check this Sale out, it's coming soon!

We also got in our new backlight V5 prototypes! We are so stoked about these puppies. So those of you waiting for Snow and Emerald backlights are almost back in business. We hope you aren't too attached to your socks, because they are about to be blown off.

We are all caught-up on mods right now, so if you are jonesing for a custom DMG mod, now is the time to buy before the holiday season, when we basically never come out of the modding room:)

GameBoy Pocket Backlighting Mod Tweak

So, many of you have bought our Backlights for Pocket and have installed them using our tutorial video. And it goes great and there is much rejoicing:) But for some of you, it doesn't work correctly and it's been driving me CRAZY trying to figure out why it only works for certain folks. Version of the Pocket? Color of the backlight? Location of modder?

Well one of our awesome customers might have found a work-around by using different solder points. If you have trouble getting contrast on your screen after backlighting, and want to be daring, you can switch the solder points so the colored wire goes to 6, or a connection called vdd, and the black goes to 4, or ground (GND). Glitch fixed, All Systems are GO!

After a not awesome weekend of the international shipping AND the entire site going down, both are completely fixed and we are back up and running. That was super fun, let me tell you. But I coded while watching the live feed at BRKfest in Kentucky, and it was SO GOOD. me if you have any questions about your orders.

Everyone is back in the office and shipping resumed Monday. If you have questions about your packages just send me an and I'll give you and update.

Some international customers have had trouble getting past the "Shipping" step at checkout. I'm working on the fix to this problem, but in the mean time and we'll process the order manually. That way we get to talk to you too, which is always awesome:) We'll work on getting that fixed ASAP, thanks for your patience everyone!

Out of Office, but Not Out of Touch:)

Sorry for the lack of updates, believe me, it's due to keeping massively busy - we are not in a shortage of news:) I'll get hopping and update the blog asap.

Pre-Summer Backlight Sale, Betas and Tutorials

Since it's finally deciding not to be winter anymore here in Wisconsin, and we finally hit the 70s this week, we are going to pass on the nice feelings and have a backlight sale in the shop next week, May 20th - 24th. Because nice weather makes everyone feel better. It's also Memorial Day Weekend for the Americans, yay three day weekend, go grill!

We are looking for some beta-testers for a new product we are trying out. But it's super secret. Like, CIA covert. You can try it out (will take some light modding), let us know truthfully what you think, then if you want to keep it, pay waaaaaay less than what it actually costs.
